Wright Water Engineers, Inc. (WWE) was founded in 1961 by our CFO, Kenneth R. Wright, P.E. We have offices in Denver, Glenwood Springs and Durango, with a staff of about 50, and work throughout the United States and internationally. Most of our staff has been with us for many years, and almost all have advanced degrees. Our highly qualified and diverse staff includes wetland scientists, hydrologists, biologists, soils/geotechnical experts, water rights engineers, civil engineers and water quality management and treatment scientists.

We are characterized by long-term, highly satisfied clients in both the public and private sectors including, as a few examples:

  • Coors Brewing Company (continuous client for over 30 years);

  • Denver Urban Drainage and Flood Control District-the drainage and flood control authority for 38 cities and counties in the Denver metropolitan area (over 30 consecutive years as a client);

  • State of Colorado, Department of Natural Resources including the State Engineer's Office, Colorado Water Conservation Board and other entities (regular client for over 12 years);

  • Most of the major Colorado ski resorts (regular clients for over 30 years);

  • City of Springfield, Missouri, and associated public organizations (regular client for past 31 years);

  • Exxon (continuous client for past 24 years); and

  • U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (past 7 years).

WWE's level of client satisfaction is extremely high. We send out annual surveys to our clients in which we ask eight questions that can be answered on a scale of 1 to 5 (where 5 is outstanding). The questions include such topics as professional competence, timeliness, cost effectiveness, responsiveness to concerns, clarity of written and verbal communication, etc. We send out about 350 surveys every year and we receive about 135 back. Our composite score is 4.7. Representatives of the University of Denver School of Business, who helped us get this survey process started, have indicated that this is an extremely high rating for a service organization.

Our company was privileged to receive two prominent awards related to overall business practice and ethics: (1) the 1996 Colorado Ethics in Business Award, which is awarded by the University of Denver, Ritchie School of Business and many other Colorado institutions and (2) the 1999 national Ethics in Business Award given by the Society of Financial Professionals. The noteworthy aspect of these awards is that they were based on extensive surveys of our staff, clients, people who oversee our work, such as federal, state and local regulators and institutions that we support financially.

The management and staff of WWE are committed to ethical business practices and professional conduct.  This strong dedication is deeply ingrained in the company’s culture and extends to all employees, clients and other professionals.  The company’s dedication to workplace mores is evident in its Business Ethics Policy on environmental impact and community service.
