 High
Altitude Emergent Marsh
Representative Project
On
behalf of
the L. G. Everist, Inc. aggregate mining operation in Summit County,
Colorado, WWE worked with relevent authorities to obtain an
individual Section
404 permit and help fulfill its requirements. WWE
handled all aspects of this complicated Section 404 permit,
including: agency coordination, development of an alternatives
analysis, wetland delineation, completion of draft and final
applications, response to comments and evaluation of permit
conditions. The permitted impact was over 28 acres. WWE
supervised the design and construction of over 30 acres of wetlands
as mitigation and has completed annual monitoring reports in
compliance with permit conditions. The
design included creation of open water pockets for waterfowl, shrub
plantings for wildlife habitat, and restoration of two creeks.
Project success has exceeded expectations. |
