Drainage Criteria Manual

Representative Project

WWE was selected to update and "computerize" the widely distributed Denver Urban Drainage and Flood Control District (UDFCD) Urban Storm Drainage Criteria Manual. WWE first developed this document for Urban Drainage in the 1960s. An important aspect of this manual is open channel design, ranging from limited stabilization measures integrated into natural channels all the way to completely "hardened" channels, such as those that are lined with rock, soil, cement, concrete, etc.

This manual provides the governing design criteria for 38 cities and counties in the Denver metropolitan area, covering a full range of conditions from rural to highly urban. The Drainage Storm Drainage Criteria Manual has been distributed to over 1000 cities and counties throughout the U.S., as well as many other countries.
