WWE has provided Mountain Coal Company with multi-disciplinary engineering services since 1981. The West Elk Mine is one of the nation's leading mines for production of low-sulfur coal via longwall mining.  WWE has assisted MCC in obtaining water augmentation plans, evaluation of potential hydrologic impacts, collection and interpretation of water quantity and quality data, and design and permitting of mitigation wetlands.
