Representative Project

Beginning in 1995, WWE spent several years assisting the Omaha Tribe of Nebraska with environmental assessment matters related to the Clean Water Act. The work was conducted closely with tribal staff under EPA Region 7 grants. Work we have done includes:  

  • Training in water quality sampling techniques 

  • Collection of water quality data  

  • Interpretation of water quality data with regard to use support and standards compliance 

  • Completion of two bioassessments for creeks on the reservation using macroinvertebrates 

  • Two fish collection efforts

  • An inventory and functional assessment of wetlands on the reservation entailing water quality sampling and identification of sites conducive for enhancement or restoration

  • Assistance with grant work plan preparation 

  • Meetings with USEPA
