The founder of WWE, Ken Wright serves as Chief Financial Officer and Principal Engineer. His specialties include hydrology, water rights, water supply, groundwater, flood control and drainage design. Ken and his wife, Ruth, were honored with a Joint Honorary Doctor of Science Degree from the University of Wisconsin in 2011. Ken has also received the Order of Merit for Distinguished Service to the Republic of Peru, several honorary degrees and professorships and an American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Distinguished Membership for his direction of paleohydrologic research at Mesa Verde National Park and at the Peruvian archaeological sites of Machu Picchu, Tipon, Moray and Ollantaytambo.
A registered Professional Hydrologist and licensed as a professional engineer in 16 states, WWE CEO Jon Jones is very active professionally as a speaker and writer on water resources issues (more than 100 publications); continuing engineering education instructor (roughly three dozen courses); four-term chairman of the American Society of Civil Engineers’ (ASCE’s) Urban Water Resources Research Council; chairman and principal author of the ASCE/Water Environment Federation (WEF) Manual of Practice for the Design and Construction of Urban Stormwater Management Systems; co-principal developer of the International Stormwater BMP Database; member of the University of Colorado Department of Civil Engineering advisory board; and member of the board of directors of the Urban Watersheds Research Institute.
Over his more than 30-year career at WWE, Jon has prepared testimony as an expert witness more than 75 times in judicial and administrative hearings. He has served on numerous advisory committees and expert panels for such organizations as the ASCE, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, California Water Quality Control Board (Los Angeles Region) and Boeing Company and the Cherry Creek Basin Water Quality Authority Board (appointed by a former Colorado governor). A number of Jon’s projects have been recognized with significant regional or national awards and he was the co-recipient of ASCE’s 2003 State-of-the-Art Civil Engineering Award and recipient of the Urban Water Resources Research Council Award for Outstanding Service in 2005, along with corporate awards related to business ethics and practice.
WWE President and senior engineer Ian Paton specializes in stormwater quality, drainage engineering, the fate and mobility of contaminants in surface water and groundwater, environmental remediation planning, coordination with regulatory agencies and water rights. His M.S. and B.S. degrees are in civil engineering and environmental design. Ian is a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control and a Certified Floodplain Manager.
Wayne Lorenz, Chief Engineer and Vice President of Public Works Engineering, is a project manager and senior designer on water and wastewater treatment, water quality, potable water systems, and design and planning of treatment controls for water resources projects. Wayne is skilled at evaluating wastewater, instream and limnological water quality issues, particularly with regard to nutrients, arsenic, selenium and uranium. Wayne has served as the national chairman of the Water Environment Federation (WEF) Nonpoint Sources of Pollution Committee and is an expert on nutrient removal technologies for wastewater and stormwater. Wayne conducts paleohydrologic research in Barbegal, France, and Pompeii, Italy, and he has spent the last ten years studying ancient Roman aqueducts and water-powered mills.
With a Ph.D. in civil engineering, Andrew Earles is WWE’s Vice President of Water Resources. Andrew is a Diplomate with the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers and a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control. He manages projects emphasizing hydrology, hydraulics, best management practices, water quality, dewatering and stormwater management.
Patricia Flood is WWE's Vice President of Water Rights and a Certified General Appraiser in Colorado. In addition to water resource valuation work, her focuses have been water rights, water supply feasibility studies, drainage design and the design and construction administration of water facilities. She is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional. In 2006, Patricia was named an Outstanding Woman Engineer by the American Council of Engineering Companies of Colorado.
Gary Witt is a hydrogeologist and WWE Vice President. He has been with WWE since 1990, specializing in groundwater investigations, groundwater and surface water rights, geologic hazard evaluation, well design and construction and water supply planning. Gary has been a registered Professional Geologist in Wyoming since 1992.
Jane Clary is WWE's Vice President of Water Policy and Regulations. She has broad writing, speaking, facilitating and technical experience within several areas of expertise: watershed management; water and stormwater quality; water resources protection, management, evaluation and regulation; database management; and water conservation. Jane is a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control and a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional. She was named an Outstanding Woman in Engineering by the American Council of Engineering Companies of Colorado in February 2012.
Durango Office Manager and Vice President Peter Foster is a senior project engineer on design and construction of water and wastewater facilities, storm drainage facilities, water supply feasibility studies, water rights analysis and environmental permitting. He was appointed by Colorado’s governor to serve on the boards of the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad (past) and the Southern Ute Indian Tribe Environmental Control Commission (past).
Jonathan Kelly is WWE’s Glenwood Springs Office Manager and a Vice President. He is a water resources engineer with experience in water supply and water rights engineering, hydrologic analysis of groundwater and surface water systems, channel hydraulics and floodplain delineations, water quality evaluations, best management practices and sizing of stormwater facilities. Jonathan serves on the board of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Colorado and on the board of the Colorado Association of Stormwater and Floodplain Managers as its Northwest Regional Representative.
Kristine Thrush, WWE’s controller for the past eight years, is involved with every facet of WWE/WEI/WPI operations. She oversees all accounting, budgeting, personnel and administrative issues.
A professor emeritus of chemistry at the University of Denver, Bob Weiner is a senior scientist who works in the chemistry of pollution control, hazardous waste, water quality and chemical fingerprinting to identify contaminants and their sources. He is an expert on the fate and mobility of contaminants in surface water, groundwater and soils, sampling and analysis protocols and data validation for extensive sampling programs. Bob is frequently asked to testify on these issues to regulatory bodies.
Bill Lorah has worked for WWE since 1966 as a principal and senior consultant and has been in the Glenwood Springs branch office since 1974. He specializes in water resource planning and development in the western U.S. and has consulted on water resource projects in several foreign countries.
Project manager and project/design engineer David Foss works on a broad spectrum of water resources management assignments. Areas of focus have been water and wastewater treatment, wetlands design, drainage evaluation, design and lawsuit investigations, flow measurement studies and investigations; utility master planning, construction administration and regulatory permitting projects.
With an M.S. in hydrology and a B.A. in biology, Jenn Keyes is an environmental scientist who works on environmental site assessments (ESAs), stormwater, best management practices, regulatory permitting, bioassessments and water quality issues including watershed management. Jenn is a Colorado Department of Transportation Erosion Control Supervisor and a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control. She serves as an Advisory Committee member for the Mountain States Chapter of the International Erosion Control Association.
Senior engineer Jeffrey Nelson works in surface and groundwater collection and conveyance systems, water distribution systems, wastewater collection and conveyance systems and associated earthwork and site access design. He is also responsible for preparation of opinions of capital cost and construction phase services. Jeff is a graduate of the Colorado School of Mines.
Hayes Lenhart is a project engineer on surface water, hydrology, hydrologic modeling and hydraulics projects. He is a member of the Order of the Engineer and a peer reviewer for the ASCE Journal of Environmental Engineering.
Scott Schreiber is a water resource engineer in WWE’s Glenwood Springs office with 12 years of experience in stream restoration, stormwater management design, water budget analysis, Clean Water Act permitting, corridor planning studies, land development, groundwater studies, athletic field design, LOMR submittals, LID and LEED designs and drainage infrastructure design. He is proficient with HEC-RAS, SWMM, Civil 3D, RiverCAD, StormCAD CUHP and HY-8.
Shannon Tillack is a project engineer on numerous types of projects including a replacement sanitary sewer trunk line and a transmission pipeline and disinfection system for water supply wells. She also performs drainage study reviews for new development projects and has served as project engineer for several flooding litigation cases.
Noah Greenberg is our Senior Aquatic Resource Scientist with a B.A. in biology and an M.A. in ecology. He serves as a consultant on projects related to water quality, wetlands, aquatic biology and ecological assessments.
Adam Kremers, P.E., provides support on water supply feasibility studies, water rights analysis, water supply and water rights modeling, and water rights and facilities appraisals for municipalities, special districts and private industry, Geospatial Information Systems, and database development and management.
Jack Gaines is a CAD Manager/civil designer who performs master drainage studies, floodplain studies, CAD management and production and computer analysis. He specializes in cartographic and graphic production of maps, figures, exhibits, graphs, charts, etc. through electronic (AutoCAD, ArcInfo) and manual media. He performs production of and analysis through perspective plots and digital terrain modeling.
Patricia Pinson is WWE's Resource Librarian and Archivist and is responsible for organizing, managing and documenting company project archives, preparing weekly project manager meeting minutes, performing research on water-related topics, assisting with the day-to-day operation of company servers and computers and providing administrative assistance as needed to technical personnel.
Sally Kribs is WWE's Communications Manager. She has broad experience developing technical and promotional documents related to water resources management. Sally coordinates WWE's website content and updates and other social media. She supports and administers prehistoric water resources management research assignments.
Trevor Downing is a geologist and GIS technician on geologic and hydrogeologic related projects including geologic hazard assessment, water rights analysis, water quality monitoring, mapping projects, integration of GPS derived data, and groundwater investigations. He is proficient with ArcGIS and its extensions including spatial analysis.
Karl Kingery is a civil engineer with several years of experience in the engineering and construction profession. He has experience in structural design, civil and hydraulic design and modeling, cost estimating, construction management and engineering support, drafting and construction.
Julia Traylor is a water resources engineer with experience in general design work and engineering reports. Skills include performing field work for projects sponsored by Urban Drainage and Flood Control District and the creation of topographic models and channel profiles using AutoCAD.
Eric Bodine, E.I.T., is an environmental engineer with experience in construction observation, installation of water supply wells, sampling groundwater wells, analyzing water quality data, and performing stormwater management inspections.
Anna Campbell, E.I.T., is a water resources project engineer who provides support related to surface water, water quality, hydrology, environmental microbiology, groundwater modeling and water treatment.
Natalie Phares is a water resources scientist who performs modeling, data analysis, report preparation, exhibit preparation, field work, organization of an expert witness testimony case and hydrograph analysis. Modeling applications include SWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS and others. She is proficient in ArcGIS and is a Certified Floodplain Manager.
Lindsey Abbott is a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) specialist who utilizes institutional knowledge of GIS principles to aid in the analysis and development of projects related to litigation proceedings, hydrologic modeling and watershed management. She creates and maintains large datasets within a rapidly evolving environment to present straightforward interpretations of complex data.
Brik Zivkovich is a civil/water resources engineer with experience in urban stormwater, watershed management, stormwater quality monitoring and design, construction and maintenance of best management practices and low impact development. His skills include development of hydrologic and hydraulic models, monitoring and training for stormwater quality best management practices and geospatial water resources analyses of urban stormwater systems.
Benjamin Von Thaden is a hydrologist on water rights evaluations, water supply feasibility studies, conservation planning, regulatory permitting, flow measurement studies and analyses, drainage evaluations and services during construction. Experience in data collection and data management with water level, discharge, groundwater pump test, water quality data, soil samples and snowpack measurements. Utilization of GPS and GIS for multiple hydrologic and snow survey analyses.
