In September 2004, the four remarkable reservoir sites studied by WPI at Mesa Verde National Park were dedicated by ASCE Executive Director Pat Natale as National Historic Civil Engineering Landmarks at a public gathering in the park. The National Park Service erected a large stone support for an impressive bronze plaque at one of the archaeological sites, Far View Reservoir, listing the four sites and the dates that ranged between AD 750 and 1180.
