Stormwater / Flood Management
Wright Water Engineers, Inc. (WWE) is recognized nationally and internationally for our work in stormwater quantity and quality management and flood hazard reduction. Beginning with the truly landmark 1969 Urban Storm Drainage Criteria Manual published by the Denver Regional Council of Governments and Urban Drainage and Flood Control District, and extending through multiple updates of that Criteria Manual, coupled with playing the lead role in preparation of the 1992 American Society of Civil Engineers and Water Environment Federation Manual of Practice for the Design and Construction of Urban Stormwater Management Systems, and the present-day International Stormwater BMP Database (www.bmpdatabase.org), WWE has truly been at the forefront of urban drainage and flood control. Our staff has played major roles in the preparation of multiple reference books and manuals of practice that are used on a routine basis; we have collectively published hundreds of papers in this area and have taught continuing engineering education classes; and we have frequently testified around the United States on stormwater management and flood control issues. We also have served on many advisory committees in this area at the federal, state and local levels.
